Ryan and I discussed that she did not use her discipline plan during class and the students talked during every transition.
We also discussed her skipping the Application Problem. She stated she forgot to teach this part of the lesson. I explained it was very important part of the lesson because it covered the math problem situations that the standards require to be mastered by the end of 2nd grade.
Centers
When the class returned from specials Mrs. Ryan began using her discipline plan when they walked in talking. After a few students had to move their clip, the remaining students stopped talking.
Mrs. Ryan handed out the 2nd part of the skill sheet. (Remember to go over the sheets you asked the students to work and give examples. This skill was rigorous and the students needed to be shown how to work these problems. A few students worked the first problem incorrectly.)

The students could have created number bonds with the dominoes or they could have just worked the review worksheet. Putting them together as an activity was confusing. They tried explaining what they were doing but it was not clear. They found a problem on the sheet and then had to dig through the dominoes to find one that matched. This was time consuming because the worksheet was not created for this activity. If you are going to use a worksheet with the dominoes, you will need to create a sheet using problems from the dominoes in the center. I would also consider assigning a few per student and them they could trade. This will take away the time it takes to dig through the entire bucket of
