The first thing Biff said to his father when he went to boston was “I let you down” meaning the math class he failed you then realize he only went to school to satisfy his father. Which is why he stopped going to school. It had a big impact in his life because of the affair he never went to summer school and finished high school. Not only did it impact his life education wise it also impacted him emotionally. Since than he never looked at his father the same way again. His mother mentions how close Biff and Willy were at one point but Biff started to slowly distance himself.
