There are organizations that support such developments, including Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), which was founded in 1943 with members from over 100 countries. The main objectives of this organization are to develop services, products and programs for the educators. In relation to the concept of “The Whole Child” ASCD formed Whole Child Initiative in 2007, which played a supervisory role in ensuring that children are engaged in learning, healthy lifestyle, have challenges academic-wise, and are taken care of by the adults around them either their parents, teachers or guardians (Brown, 2008).
