They know the destruction and chaos that Hitler caused in the country and the many thousands of people that were killed. However, not many know the why: Why Hitler did what he did, why he joined the DAP and transformed it into the NSDAP, the Nazi party. There is no way to determine the exact reason that Adolf Hitler decided to abandon his political beliefs and join the DAP, however, with the evidence that is available, it is possible to come to the closest conclusion to his motives. To understand the mindset that he had and the actions that he took, one must first understand the conditions of the German state. Hitler took advantage of the instability in Germany to rise to power. But why did he choose to rise through the ranks? He truly believed that his ideas were for the benefit of Germany; that everything he did and would do was for the good of the German people.
