JusticeCorps is an AmeriCorps internship program offered to college students to volunteer in the self-help centers of the Superior Courts of California. As a JusticeCorps member, I assist litigants complete forms related to their case in family law, housing law, and other pending legal forms. Joining JusticeCorps changed my perspective in that I am convinced that I want to continue to enrich the lives of those who are in need. 5. What were your most important educational experiences? Graduating from the Millennium Momentum Foundation Leadership Development Institute program was one of my most important educational experiences. The program helped me understand practical leadership skills and employment skills training. It provided me professional mentoring and career guidance.
6. What are your greatest strengths? One of my strengths is being patient and understanding with peers, customers and me. Being discipline is another one of my strengths because I thrive in routine, systems, and research; methodical. I stay focused on my goals and study certain things before making an action. What are your career aspirations? My career goal is to work at the Administrative Office of the U.S Courts. My career goal will allow me to administrate the court’s jury system and be a courtroom supporter. I will like to work at the Administrative Office of the U.S Courts because I believe I will be able to learn something new every day.
9. How do you plan to reach your career goals?
In order to reach my career goal, I plan to work at different agencies that require me to do data entry in case management system and routine use of keyboard skills. In addition, making sure I gain clerical experiences and leadership roles.
10. What specific aspects of this course interest you the most?
Since I am the type of person who tries to avoid conflict with any group, organizations and part of any relationship, I am particularly interesting in learning about managing conflict as it relates to the workforce. If I am going to be a program coordinator or a supervisor someday, then I must be able to handle conflict properly in the workplace. In addition, I will like to know why conflict can be a positive attribute to the workplace.
