I dream to work in the field of education one day, teaching economics. Why economics ? What fascinates me about this subject is that it shares certain aspects of both an art and a science, offering the perfect combination of numbers and words, calculations and interpretation. It is important that we teach economics as it reveals a critical perspective into the complexity of our world and helps us understand better our place in it.
I never had the opportunity to visit Ithaca, but I was said only good things about this city. In fact, I have been in New York city since September. The past 4 months, which I spent in New York taking English classes and looking at universities, have been the most memorable in my life because of the amazing richness of cultures and languages that I encountered. Which corresponds to the multicultural environment I’ve been exposed to for over ten years, thanks to my father’s international occupation. Studying in Cornell will definitely keep me in touch with these amazing folks. I’m convinced that the city of Ithaca and Cornell University embody the same inspiring diversity. I have also been impressed by the fact that during my many conversations with Cornell alumni they had only positive things to share about their alma mater.
