Observing teachers can be inspiring. It can create good ideas to help children learn. There may be materials used in lessons observed that could be useful for another teacher to use.
It can show what standards of teaching there are and if standards maybe too low or too high against other teachers.
When observing the teacher there are many different and new strategies that can be learnt.

Sometimes agencies from outside school come to observe to give their professional input and support.
We need to make sure that learners are able to work within an environment that helps them do this.
When observing the learning environment it is important to see that all children have access to a well-resourced indoor and outdoor environment. Children should appear to be happy relaxed and confident. The areas should be safe so that the children are not exposed to any danger.
Work spaces should be free from obstacles. When observing a classroom someone else may be able to point out areas for improvement or share ideas they have had in their classroom.
The way the classroom is set out is a prime key for learning well. Children should be seated where best suits them and resources should be placed for them to easily find.
Technology is a very powerful tool to help with teaching and notes may be written as to what technology is available and if it is being used properly and efficiently. Observations are carried to make sure such technology is up to date and that the children have knowledge of how to use them to support their learning
