These standardized tests are being stressed so much to students to where it’s killing their desire to learn, because that’s all they end up thinking about throughout the year. To many students these test are beginning to matter more to them than just a test. Since again they don’t care to look at the students actually grades they might not realize that their doing just fine, they just don’t have great test takers. People aso may think that, “Teaching to the test,” is a good thing because, “It focuses on essential content and skills.” (ProCon.org). Which is not the case. Students may need to learn some of the content that will be shown on the test but that doesn’t mean it needs to narrow the curriculum and take the fun out of teaching and learning.
Again, students should not have to take standardized test because they cause a great deal of stress for not only the students but the teachers and the schools. So if you think these test have a positive effect on students, teachers, and schools, please reconsider. These test really do affect all of them in a certain way. There are better options out there to choose rather than these time worthy and draining tests. Please take it upon yourself and do some research on a student or a teacher’s thought on these test to see how they really affect
