30 November 2015 Yoga VS Pilates Compare and Contrast Assignment A lot of people seem to underestimate the physical benefits of yoga and Pilates, yet the practices has made people stronger and more flexible, physically and emotionally. Yoga and Pilates are examples of “mind and body" fitness because they emphasize both physical and mental strength. Yoga and Pilates have specific movements such as poses or postures that strengthen your body and improve your flexibility by teaching you how to move your body and focus your mind. Each exercise offers stress-relief, flexibility, strength, control, and endurance which is all very important to maintain a healthy, fit lifestyle. One major detail about yoga and Pilates is that they bring an understanding that the mind and body are connected. Pilates focuses on creating an understanding how they are connected and how this can help in everyday life.
