Cell theory
In 1665 Robert Hooke in English scientist noticed tiny box-like structures in a slice of cork was observing through a microscope they looked to him like rooms or cells in a monastery I think so he named the tiny boxes cells the boxes hooks are actually the walls of dead plant cells the walls had one surrounded the living material of cells in a cork tree a type Oak tree of the insides of cells had died and only the rigid cell walls with left for Hooke to observe in 1838 over 150 years after hooks observations a scientist announced that his observations of plants led him to believe that all plants are made of cells a year later another scientist said that his observations indicated that are animals are also made of cells at that time most scientists but the statements were foolish as more observations were made however Sciences gradually accepted having his invitation the theory that all living things are made of cells this theory is the base of the modern cell theory the cell theory states the following
All cells come from preexisting cells all living things are made of cells and products of cells cells perform the functions of living things
Cellular functions
All cells use energy
Celsius energy constantly to keep the complex process of life going and to keep all the cells Parts organized and working properly the cell must continue to use energy when the cell stops then I have to start using energy it dies
All cells manufacturing materials
Cells make materials for use within themselves or for use elsewhere each cell assembles its old cell parts from simple substances some cells also manufacture materials for use elsewhere for example when cells in your skin release oil and gland cells in your stomach wall release digestive fluids such cells transform simple substances into the specific materials they release hi Papa tell us also produced waste materials during their various activities
All cells respond to their environment
cells live in a changing environment therefore cells must be able to respond to change some cells are extremely sensitive to certain conditions and their environment for example the cells in the back of your eyeball are extremely sensitive to light many cells are sensitive to the amount of chemicals in the fluid around them some cells can it Just Dance hibbity to survive and increase or decrease in the level of chemicals other cells however cannot adjust their tivities and cares respond to such a change only by dying
All cells reproduce themselves
Normally a cell grows until it reaches a certain size and then divides when a unicellular organism such as a protozoan or bacterium rap reduces the result is to complete organisms when cells in the multicellular plants and animals survive the new cells may replace old worn-out cells if the new cells are produced faster than the old cells die the organism will grow
