It is important for a teacher to know their student’s likes and dislikes. This is a tremendous way to help your students grow and reach their full potential. The more educated you are on your students, the easier it is for you as a teacher. During my read aloud, I had a tough time choosing a book for my students because all their genre interest differed. This made it very challenging to choose a book, which complemented all the student’s interest. Ages and stages were my referral resource, in…

For instance, a narcissistic has an inflated perception of themselves, they believe they are better than everyone, others problems do not interest them, in other words they are vain and it is all about them. These questions will be able to demonstrate that. Narcissistic trait best fits with extroversion in the Big 5 because people who are extroverted tend to be more outgoing and when in a group of…

In my last AGPP class on December 13th I co-kept a circle with Professor Lukens. Prof. Lukens and I met twice before the circle to review the opening, questions, and closing of the circle. She had a talking piece picked out and we borrowed a piece of cloth to use as a centerpiece. Using some notes from the training I attended with Kay Pranis, I created a handout with a description of what a balanced circle looks like (i.e. getting acquainted, building relationships, addressing issues, developing…
Every since a very young age, I'll I've ever known is football, more importantly Minnesota Vikings football. My dad is maybe the biggest fan there is, every Sunday, Monday or Thursday game, he's watching. Always cheering or yelling. That’s a big one, he yells like the referees can hear him. I could never have friends over on Sundays because of the yelling. Even though football has been around me for so long I never really understood the game. I tried multiple times to understand, but it just…
It’s amazing how short it took to complete the long-census form. Thirty minutes, one siting and a cup of coffee to stay focus. It’s quiet a simple task to fill out the survey because the questions were straightforward and the examples for each question answered all the misconceptions I had if any about each question; however, what exactly is the long-form census and what is it used for? In my experience the long-form census is a survey used to collect data from the people of the country. The…
Talking to someone who I knew all my life, my brother Kevin made this interview effortless. As I turned on skype on October 11th, my questions were in one hand and a voice recorder in the other I was prepared, I was ready! Sitting in my comfortable computer chair in a room that contained the essence of lavender scented air freshener, like a wild fire it was spreading with the assistance of the box fan on directly behind me, transforming the room into a cool artic breeze. Once he answered the…

She explained to the class that they were going to learn about summarizing, but that they were going to review some of the things they learned in their last class from the scholastic news article they read. Ms. Rogic then displayed a picture of a mudskipper on the SmartBoard. One student, Malik, raised his hand and…
Charles Manson was born on November 12,1934 in Ohio. He is known for his notorious killings of Hollywood stars. He was interviewed by Tom Snyder about his life before and after he was prosecuted for the crimes he committed. In the interview, the relationship caused the interview to lose its credibility. In the interview both Snyder and Manson insulted one another while asking and answering questions. While asking a question,at the beginning of the interview, Snyder identified Manson as a maniac…
My Critique After looking back on my community interview, there were a couple of things I noticed. One thing was that I did a pretty good job using attending and SOLER skills. I kept eye contact for the majority of the interview, I kept my body open, and I refrained from creating barriers between myself and the interviewee. These are all things I have been working hard on, and am happy to see some improvements. Another thing was that I tried to use some reflective listening and summaries. At…
