After students have completed their research and have a deep understanding about their planet, they will present their information. Students are able to present their findings through different formats including: making a presentation using Google Slides or Prezi, writing a paper using Google Docs, or creating a video using iMovie. By using one of these various means of representation students are able to express and communicate their understanding whichever way they prefer. Engagement As students complete their research and create a presentation they will be using multiple means of engagement. Students become invested in finding research about their planet and want to use different applications to learn more. As a result of students completing a presentation of their findings, they are more likely to stay on task. Since they will be working individually it is up to each student to self-regulate to ensure the assignment is completed before the deadline. In conclusion iPads create an opportunity for diversification for all students. The three components of Universal Design for Learning are easily met when using iPads in the classroom. Students are able to learn by different methods, express that learning in different ways, and…
need to know that PowerPoint presentation is popular and the program itself allows us to develop, create, and edit an outstanding presentation. The slides are helpful because it gives the audience a view on the topic of choice. Using this specific program is a tool that offers different advantages, which benefits both educator and student. The user can combine the text, graphics and multimedia to support a presentation (Siddiqui, 2015, para.1). Using this presentation program modifies a…
As I have been working on the webcast presentation, some lessons that I have learned are: changing the PowerPoint presentation into a video, adding animation and transitions to the slides. I believe this informatics class would have been beneficial to other class assignments and presentations that I have completed in the first nine classes of the Masters of Nursing program. The information I have learned will be helpful in my completion of the program and will help me in presenting information…
One minor downside to using this presentation software is that to get better quality, unlocked and extended time limits you would need to pay 19 dollars a month. This is not suitable for a consumer to pay 19 dollars for 1 presentation they will be making. However, some of these features are very beneficial in order to capture the investors eyes. For example, an HD quality presentation would entice the investors to read on when compared to a lower quality presentation. The major disadvantage…
Assignment four, visual rhetorical analysis, helped me develop oral communication skills. For this assignment, we were asked to deliver a presentation, and it was also the first official presentation that we made in front of the whole class in this course. Presentation #5 Group: Skanska AUS Group The Skanska Aus Group presented on the human resources issue of turnover and retention of staff in the construction industry. Presentations have never been my strong suit, whether it is talking about myself in front of a group of people to presenting a complex situation to a class. By taking this course I am hoping that I’ll be able to boost my confidence when it comes to public speaking. I have had to complete many presentation in the past but I have yet to master the ability to present well in front of large groups. The first project that we were assigned in my communication class was to get to know our classmate…
Life after Death by PowerPoint A PowerPoint presentation can be an effective tool for delivering information to various audiences in various environments, to include educational and corporate settings. In a business environment, an individual will have to deliver a PowerPoint presentation at some point during his or her career (CSU-Global, 2015). Just as PowerPoint can be an effective method for delivering information, if not used appropriately - from formatting poorly, to merely…
I. Summarize and assess the written evaluations of your group presentation. Discuss the reactions you and your group had to this feedback. What, if anything, would you want to change about your group’s preparation and presentation? Be specific. The written assessments had good reviews. Almost all of our evaluations were fives all the way down. There was less than 5 fours total for the scale questions on the evaluations. All of the comments were very positive. The written comments were things…
