sign of Anointing
|
The priest anoints the person with the oil of the sick, ordinarily on the person's forehead and on the palms of his hands while saying: "Through this holy anointing may the Lord in his love and mercy help you with the grace of the Holy Spirit. May the Lord who frees you from sin save you and raise you up." The message of this sign is that of spiritual healing and salvation.
