SI- overt sedation, HTN crisis, xerostomia, constipation, sexual dysfunction, skin eruptions
Tx for- HTN, glaucoma, withdrawal from tobacco, EtOH, or opioids, preanesthetic, neuropathic pain, mestrual hot flashes, neuropsychiatric disorders

IV only
Tx for- emergency situations where heart contractility low, polymorphic ventricular tachycardia, beta-blocker overdose

beta 1 receptors
Tx for- given IV to pts with cardiac failure or cardiogenic shock, with depressed left ventricular function

beta 2 receptors
CI- cardiac arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, hyperthyroidism, pheochromocytoma, seizures, DM, elderly
Tx for- asthma, COPD, prmature labor, hyperkalemia

MOA- false transmitter
SI- if administered parenterally => sympathomimetic actions
Tx for- localize lesion of sympathetic nerves

SI- agitation, sterotyped behavior, hyperthermia, seizures, sympathetic hyperactivity
