Class: Alpha blocker

Action: Reduces Peripheral Vascular resistance

Indications: Hypertension; Diagnoses of pheochromocytoma by rapidly causing a drop in BP; Treat the infiltration effects caused by dopamine, and epi (inject in a circular pattern SQ around the sight of infiltration)

Adverse effects: tachycardia; dizziness; GI upset
