What kind of joint is hip joint? What type of cartilage?
Synovial ball and socket. Articular cartilage

Three thickenings of hip joint capsule
Iliofemoral ligament - (Y shaped) attaches to ilium and AIIS. Splits an attaches high and low on the intertrochanteric line.
Pubofemoral ligament - Attaches to pubis near obturator canal and to femur at lower part of neck.
Ischiofemoral ligament - Attaches to ischium behind and below the acetabulum. Spirals up and attaches to greater trochanter. Some fibers become circular to form zona obicularis.
What type of joint is the knee joint?
Hinge joint between patella, femur, and tibia
Where is capsule of knee joint?
On back and sides but not front
