What are Neurons?
|
Neurons conduct impulses and the neuroglia specialized connective-tissue cells. The function of the neuron is to recieve and transmit electrical signals from the other neurons, muscles, and glands.

What are Neuroglia cells?
|
Neuroglia cells support and protect the neurons as it holds them together. Neuroglia supports the tiny blood vessels (capillaries) in the brain.

What is an axon?
|
Axon is the elongated projection that carries signals away from the cell body. An axon may have branches known as collaterals that allow communication amoung neurons.

What is a Dendrite?
|
Dendrites work like small hairs, are extensions of the cytoplasm of the cell. Their job is to carry signals to the cell body.

What is a Myelin?
|
Myelin is the fatty insulator inside the neuroglia which is produced by Schwann cells.
