purpose was to track the purchase patterns of hybrid see corn by farmers.

Rogers proposes there are four elements of adoption of any technology:
1) the technology itself;

2) the communication channels through which information is exchanged between potential adopters(e.q. mass media and interpersonal);

3) the speed at which the emerging technology is being adopted;

4) the social system into which the innovation is introduced tat can be influenced by internal opinion leaders and external change agents
