Computer System
|
This terms refers to a team made up of the computer and support devices that together to receive data, processes information, and outputs information.

Central Processing Unit (CPU)
|
Is made of computer chips and is composed of three section such as the the control unit, the arithmetic logic unit (ALU) and the memory unit.

RAM
|
Is a form of memory. This is serves a temportary memory holder that is designed to hold new information and can be made available to user when the computer is turned on.

ROM
|
serves as the permanent internal memory. This is cannot be accessed by the user, rather is a place where the manufacturer stores instructions.

|
Input Devices
|
are devices such as (but not limited to) keyboards, mice, scanners and electronic whiteboards. These devices serve as a way to input information or data into the computer.

Output Devices
|
serves as way of producing information or data from the computer to a hard copy (printed page) or to be displayed in another way. An example of output device is a printer or a document camera.

Storage Devices
|
This device serves as a way to store information or data. There are two options such as internal or external.

Internal Storage
|
is inside a computer. The data is stored through the hard disk or a hard drive.
|

External Storage
|
is a way of storing that is outside of the computer. It can be connected to the computer by cables or ports. For example, an external device could be a USB drive or a CD-ROM.

Application Software
|
This allows the computer to do specific function such as creating documents such as spreadsheets or written documents. For example, Microsoft Word or Excel are application softwares.
