Usually starts with a hoarse cough that progresses to a barking cough (seal like) +/- respiratory distress.
Common in children age 6months - 6 years |

C - very common E - Rare (due to Hib vacc)
C - Mildly to severly unwell E - V.unwell to toxic C - Drooling not usually seen E - Drooling C - Barking cough E - Absent/slient C - Able to drink E - Unable to drink C - Managed with steroids +/- adrenaline nebs E - Leave child alone, get ENT & anaesthetust. Antibiotics after airway is sucured |
