Disorders First Diagnosed in Childhood/ Adolescence

A. Significantly subaverage intellectual functioning: IQ of approx 70 or below
B. Deficits/ impairments in present adaptive functiong in at least 2 areas:
communication
self-care
home living
social/interpersonal skills
use of community resources
self-direction
functional academic skills
work
leisure
health & safety
C. Onset is prior to age 18

Mild 50-55 to 70
Moderate 35-40 to 50-55
Severe 20-25 to 35-40
Profound below 20-25

A. A total of 6 from 1, 2, and 3, with at least 2 from 1, and 1 each from 2 and 3
1) Impairment in social interaction (at least 2)
a) impairment in use of nonverbals
b) failure to develop peer rel
c) lack of sharing enjoyment (joint attention)
d) lack of social and emotional reciprocity
2) Impairments in communication (at least 1)
a) delay in language devel
b) impairm in the ability to initiate or sustain a conversation
c) stereptyped and repetitive use of language
d) lack of varied or spontaneous make believe play
3) Restricted repetitive and stereotyped patterns of behavior, interests, and activities (at least 1)
a) preoccupation with one or more stereotyped and restricted patterns of interest that is abnormal in intensity and focus
b) inflexible adherence to nonfunctional routines or rituals
c) stereotyped and repetitive motor mannerisms
d) preoccupation with parts of objects
B. Delays or abnormal functioning in at least one of the following areas w/ onset prior to age 3: social interaction, language as used in social communication, symbolic or imaginative play
C. Disturbance is not better accounted for by retts Disorder or Childhood disintegrative disorder

A. Pattern of behavior in which the basic rights of others or other major age-appropriate societal norms or rules are violated. 3 or more in the past 12 months, with at least 1 in the past 6 months:
Aggression to people and animals
Deceitfulness or theft
Destruction of property
Serious violations of the rules
C. disturbance causes clinically significant impairment in social academic or occupational functioning
C. If individual is 18 yrs or older, criteria are not met for ASP

CD childhood onset type- at least 1 criterion prior to age 10
CD adolescent onset type-absense of any criterion prior to age 10
CD unspecified type
MILD
MODERATE
SEVERE

A. negativistic, hostile, and defiant behavior lasting at least 6 months. 4 or more:
1) loses temper
2) argues with adults
3) actively defies or refuses to comply
4) delibrately annoys
5) balmes others for mistakes
6) touchy or easily annoyed
7) angry and resentful
8) spiteful or vindictive

c) runs/ climbs excessively
d) diff playing or engaging in leisure act quietly
e) on the go/ driven by a motor
f) talks excessively
Impulsivity
a) blurts out answers
b) diff awaiting turn
c) interrupts or intrudes on others
B. Some symp present before age 7
C. Impairment in 2 or more settings
D. Clear evidence of clinically sign impair
E. R/O other disorders

ADHD Combined type:
Criteria A1 and A2 met 6 mths
ADHD predominately inattentive type
ADHD predominately hyperactive-impulsive type
