1. hemolysis if G6PD deficient
2. crystalluria + renal failure

What is the MoA of Dapsone?
Inhibits dihyropteroate synthetase

- interferes with reduction of folic acid --> inhibits purine synthesis
What are unique SE of TMP?
TMP = Treats Marrow Poorly
- Megaloblastic anemia
- Leukopenia
- Granulocytopenia
When is TMP used?
used in combo with sulfonamides
- recurrent UTIs
- Acute bacterial prostatitis
What is the MoA of metronidazole?
Forms toxic anion metabolites in bacterial cell that damages bacterial DNA
When is Metronidazole used?
1. Anaerobes
2. DoC for Bacteroides

protozoal with good CSF penetration
