Incompatible with all medications, especially sodium bicarbonate. Flush tubing well between drugs.
Assure IV patency; refer to drug administration principles Notify BioTel prior to administration if patient is on Digitalis preparation. |

Side Effects |
Tissue necrosis with infiltration
Forms precipitate when given with sodium bicarbonate. Causes Digitalis toxicity if administered to pts on Digitalis. With rapid infusion or overdose; Bradycardia, hypotension, and asystole. |
