Drug Interactions
A precipitate will form if glucagon is mixed wiht chloride solutions
Hyperglycemic effect can be ^ and prolonged if used with EPI.
PREPARATIONS
1mg of white powder in vial #2 & 1ml of fluid diluent in cial #1
note: reconstitue only with diluent provided
Adult dose
Hypoglycemis: 1mg; may repeat q20min. for a total of 3 doses
B blocker: 1mgmay rpt. q20min prn
PEDIATRIC DOSE
Hypoglycemis: 0.03mg/kg
B Blocker: 0.25mg'kg to a max of 1 unit
note:rarely used in the Out of hosp. setting
