What is a "Saturday night palsy?"
|
Radial nerve palsy. The radial nerve is compressed by an arm draped over the bedrail. Results in inability to raise wrist (primary) and grip weakness (secondary). Also poor sensation over dursum of thumb-index finger webspace.

What is a "shoulder stinger?"
|
Axillary nerve palsy. A blow to the shoulder causes stretching of the axillary nerve. Results in deltoid weakness and a patch of poor sensation over the lateral, central portion of the arm.
