synovial joints	freely movable joint where most joint motion occurs.
osteokinematics	relationship of the movement of bones around a joint axis
arthrokinematics	deals with the relationship of joint surface from movement
flexion	bending movement of one bone on another
extension	straightening movement of one bone away from another
hyperextension	the continuation of extension beyond anatomical position
palmar flexion	flexion at the wrist
plantar flexion	flexion at the ankle
dorsiflexion	extension at the wrist and ankle joints
abduction	movement away from the midline
adduction	movement towards the midline
horizontal abduction	shoulder movement backwards
horizontal adduction	shoulder movement forwards
radial deviation	hand moves lateral or towards the thumb
ulnar deviation	hand moves medially from the anatomical position toward the little finger side of the wrist.
lateral bending	trunk moves sideways.
circumduction	motion that describes a circular, cone-shaped pattern. ex. shoulder moves in a circle.
medial rotation or internal	anterior surfaces moves toward the midline
lateral rotation or external	anterior surface rolls outward away form the midline
supination	palm faces inward or anteriorly
