What is meiosis and name the different phases?
Meiosis is the process of reduction division in which the number of chromosomes per cell is cut in half through the homologous chromosomes in a diploid cell. The 2 phases are meiosis 1 and meiosis 2.
Give a summary of meiosis process.
During meiosis the number of homologous chromosomes are cut in half through the separation of homologous chromosomes. The result is 4 haploid cells that are genetically different from one another and the original cell.
Homologous chromosomes
Chromosomes that each have a corresponding chromosome from an oppisite sex parent.
Diploid and haploid
Diploid is a cell that contains both sets of homologous chromosomes

Haploid is a cell that only has one set of homologous chromosomes.
