Amputation (LEG)- nursing interventions

Keep a tourniquet at bedside.
Medicate for phantom pain First 24 hours - elevte the foot of bed to reduce edema; then keep the bed flat to prevent hip flexion contractures. For above the knee - prevent internal or external rotation of the limb. For external - place a sandbag, rolled towel... along outside of thigh to prevent ex. rotation. |
