What is amblyopia?
commonly known as lazy eye, is the eye condition noted by reduced vision not correctable by glasses or contact lenses and is not due to any eye disease. The brain, for some reason, does not fully acknowledge the images seen bythe amblyopic eye. About 3% of children have this. Constant unilateral strabismus (inability to align eyes) can cause this.

Treatment – patch unaffected eye to “strengthen” the lazy eye. Need to do this before the age of 2!
