Members are responsible for maintaining and repairing their personal helmet. The non- issued helmet will be inspected semi annually when the members’ personal protective equipment P.P.E is picked up for cleaning. Non-issued helmets returned defective from the semi annual cleaning/inspection shall not be worn. Once a non-issued helmet has been condemned it shall not be worn until documentation is provided from the manufacturer and or vendor that the helmet has been repaired to the manufacturers specifications. Members shall resubmit the FD Form 123H, along with the appropriate documentation, that the helmet meets the manufacturer specifications. |

What shall a probationer where as a frontispiece?
|
It shall have the word "PROBATIONER" in red letters on a white background on the frontispiece in the place of the word "FIREFIGHTER".

Members shall be permitted to replace the issued helmet frontispiece with a personalized version, as long as it satisfies what requirements ?

Placing your PPE on the unit, replacing the individual’s PPE you have signed in to relieve, constitutes your assumption of duty, meaning that you are prepared to respond on all alarms as well as entering into an IDLH atmosphere.

How can you try and get approval for a patch?
|
Captains/Supervisors shall submit a memorandum, addressed to their respective Deputy Fire Chief, Operations Division, requesting the authorization for approval. This memo shall also include the actual sample of the insignia or a computer-generated version, displayed to scale and in full color. The Deputy Fire Chiefs assigned to the [Operations] Division shall comprise the review committee, and issue the approval/rejection determination in writing within thirty (30) days. Rejections shall be accompanied with a written explanation to include any change(s) that could be made to receive approval.
