- ACLS: 6 mg rapid followed by 20mL Normal Saline flush
- ACLS: If no response, 12 mg rapid followed by an additional 12 mg if needed |

- 0.1 mg/kg RAPID
- If no response, double the dose |

Drug action for ADENOSINE?
|
- Slows PSVT by decreasing electrical conduction through the AV node
- Acts directly on SA node and vagal nerve to decrease chronotropic activiy |

Onset and Duration of ADENOSINE?

Onset: Immediate
Duration: 7 - 10 seconds |

Precautions for ADENOSINE?
|
- Monitor EKG closely
- Expect a brief period of asystole (up to 15 seconds) followed by a return of sinus rhythm - Can cause bronchoconstriction in asthma patients |

- Light headedness
- Headache - Palpitations - Chest pain - Flushing - Nausea |
