Papilledema
-loss of pulsation
-blurring of optic margins
Head trauma care
to ER if vomiting >2x or LOC
check every 2 hrs
1-2 days later for edema
Meds: Mannitol- for cerebral edema
Desamethasone- steroid to decrease inflammation
Posturing
-Decorticate
-Deserbrate
decorticate=inward, damage to cerebral cortex
deserbrate= extended, midbrain
alternating= rapid detioration
