Certification

A non-governmental agency grants recognition to an individual who has met certain predetermined qualifications specified by that agency.
The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians grant certification to technicians who pass their voluntary certification examination. Certified Pharmacy Technicians (CPhT) are then required to complete 20 hours of continuing education every two years to maintain their certified status. |

This process is defined as licensure.
