He was a poet and philosopher. He became ruler of Athens and cancled all debts and freed the debt slaves. Set up a code of laws which treated all as equal.

Ruler of Athens. He set up the council of 500 to make laws for Athens. His laws made Athens a full democracy. He took land away from the nobles to give to the poor.

He made up the Socratic method of teaching, which is to answer a question with a question. He was put on trial and was forced to poisen himself with hemlock.

The student of Plato. Logic and a rigid system of organizing and testing ideas.
Aristophanes
Wrote Clouds. The first comedy for the stage. It made fun of politicans.
Plato
The student of Socrates. He set up the Academy. A school in Athens that lasted 900 years, that was based on the teachings of Socrates. Wrote The Republic. It said only well educated people should run a government.
Philip of Macedonia
He took over all of the greek city-states except Sparta. In 336 B.C., he is killed at his daughters wedding by his wife. His son is Alexander the great.
