What muscle is used to test the L1-L2 mot nerve root?
Psoas
What nerve root corresponds to the quadriceps?
L3
What muscles corresponds to the L4 motor nerve roo?
Tibialis Anterior Muscle
Extensor Hallicus Longus corresponds to which motor nerve root?
L5
What muscle tests the S1 motor nerve root
Gastroc - plantarflex
CS: UPL5
superior medial surface of PSIS: Multifidus, rotatores, SI ligaments

Extend hp, adduct and external rotation
CS: LPL5
Inferior aspect of the PSIS
Iliopsoas and SI Ligaments
*this is a flexion dysfunction with a tender point located POSTERIORLY

Pt prone, leg dropped of edge. Flex hip to 90, slight Adduction and retract opposite ilium slightly

OR

Pt prone, stand on opposite side of TP and grasp ilium at the ASIS on the side of the TP. Instruct pt to FLEX and ADDUCT leg to affected side
-ilium is then retracted and rotated toward the TP
CS: SSI
Superior Sacroiliac: Glut Med
located on the lateral aspect of PSIS

Pt prone: physician foot on table:
extend and ABduct pts hip
CS: ISI
Inferior Sacroiliac
Coccygeus, Sacrotuberous Ligament
located in a line along the sacrotuberous ligament
-from ischial tuberosity to posterior aspect of the ILA of the sacrum

Pt prone, stand on opposite side
Extend, ADDUCT, and Externally rotate across the uninvolved leg
CS: PS1
Posterior First Sacral (PS1)
Levator Ani
Located in the sacral sulcus, medial andslightly inferior to PSIS

Doc applies anterior pressure on OPPOSITE ILA, resulting in rotation around an oblique axis
CS: PS5
Posterior 5th Sacral
Levator Ani

Located 1cm superior and medial to ILA of sacrum

Pt prone, apply anterior pressur on sacral base of opposite side of tenderpoint
-results in rotation around an oblique axis.
CS: Inguinal Ligament Tenderpoint
Lateral surface of pubic bone, near attachment of inguinal ligament

Pt supine, doc on OPPOSITE side of TP with foot on exam table

Pts legs are flexed and resting on your thigh. Cross legs at knees (good over evil) and adduct femur with internal rotation on the side of the TP
Illiacus TP
Located anterior and deep throughout the iliac fossa:

Pt supine, doc on SAME side (different from inguinal ligament)

Cross legs at ankles and introduce flexion and external rotation at hips (like sitting indian style only laying on back. Marked external rotation of thighs bilaterally and tune with pelvis rotation.

"Ankles iliacus" - vowels
"knees (inguinal) ligament"
CS: Anterior Fifth Lumbar (AL5)
Rectus Abdominus
on anterior pubic bone, 1cm lateral to symphysis

Pt supine doc on same side.
Flex thighs to 90 and rotate knees toward side of TP
CS: Anterior Second Lumbar
AL2 - External Abdominal Oblique

Medial inferior surface of ASIS

PT supine, Doc opposit.
Flex pts hips to 90 and rotate knees AWAY from TP. SB runk slightly away from the side of the TP by pushing lower legs toward floor
CS: Anterior Third-Fourth Lumbar
AL3-4) Iliopsoas
AL3 - lateral surface of AIIS
AL4 - Inferior to AIIS slightly below AL3

Pt supine doc on opposite side. Flex Hips to 60-90. SB trnk away from TP by pulling pts feet toward you while keeping knees midline.
