Throughout history In America, obesity has been an epidemic, which has affected many Americans, including young children. People have been struck by the unhealthy food bug, eating mounds of food from unhealthy restaurants, and living a lifestyle of being care free with what all they consume and never thinking about what It could possibly do to their body. This lifestyle has contributed to America being one of the unhealthiest countries in the world, and it all starts with our young folk. According to the American Psychological association, Obesity in childhood places children and youth at risk for becoming obese as adults and associated poor health such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and some forms of cancer. With young children becoming heavily obese across the nation, this has become an epidemic that has governmental agencies like Social Services trying to figure out how it can be stopped in order to gain control for obese children, and future adults alike. With Social Services becoming involved in the well being of young children, it raises the question of how much power they should be granted to determine the well being of a child. My group will elaborate this issue and give you our thoughts on what type of steps should be taken to control this. But First, We must identify the problem at hand.

With astonishing numbers like that, and the targets that these food companies are after, how could anyone be surprised that a problem like childhood obesity has swept the nation? Different groups and organizations have he power to control this, and make a change for the better for childhood obesity.

Conclusion

Anyone can tell that this is a serious problem that we face across our nation. Advertisements are very affective in luring young children who are narrow minded into craving foods that are unhealthy for them. With the help of certain agencies that come in contact, and with a little help from individuals who want to make a difference, we can put an end to childhood obesity, and make our children and our future as bright as it should be.
