The Holocaust, the Jews, Hitler and all of that big mess, including the technological inventions of making computers were a big part of this decade. Germany bombed parts of Europe, including other civil populations, this caused World War II which happened in the time from 1939 to 1945 and became one of the most tragic wars we had. Several artists from Europe moved to America due to them getting bombed (Wheeler 41). Abstract art was important and became one of the biggest changes in the art of the 1940’s. Regionalism and Social Realism were popular in the 1930’s and a small portion of the 1940’s Abstract Expressionism art had two types called gesture and color (Campbell).
