The book not only fulfilled the action piece which I enjoy in books, but also had slow historical content that I like too. The best part in the book was after Louie comes back from the POW camps and seeks remorse from the harshest captor he had named the Bird: “During the war, the Bird had been unwilling to let go of Louie; after the war, Louie was unable to let go of the Bird”(Laura Hillenbrand pg 366) which shows that no matter how brutal people are, you can always forgive them. In the end, I loved this book and would recommend it to all audiences who enjoy an action-packed, fun…

The book I chose for this project was Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. I am going to talk about the first three sections not the whole book, since it is a long book and it jumps around so much it would take a lot longer to talk about. This book is a hybrid of fiction and drama. The first section of the book is “The Pacific Journal of Adam Ewing” it is a journal written in the mid 1800s by a sailor stuck on an island while the ship he was on gets repaired. The journal has a total of fifteen entries from November to December, but is not specific about the year.…

But along with new innovation, a lot of violence erupted, causing millions of lives to be lost. War is a transformative event for individuals because the deaths caused by war impacts people in a negative way, causing witnesses to have physical and/ or mental disorders, along with a feeling of helplessness and loss of faith in government. The novel All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque is an example of the impact war can have on soldiers.
