I believe adoption is a good solution to that problem. Many people would disagree, saying that it would be too hard on the mother to carry the child and then give it up, but I believe that if a woman is willing to take the life of her unborn child then it shouldn’t be even more difficult for her to put her baby up for adoption. There are many couples in the world that feel incomplete because of the inability to get pregnant, and adoption is a way that these couples can finally have the family that they’ve always wanted. Women, especially those who already have children may need to have an abortion if they have a medical condition that will put their life at risk if they were to have another child. Some conditions women can have that can complicate pregnancy are cancer, diabetes, Heart disease, autoimmune disorders, HIV/AIDS, and certain other STDs (6). In most cases these women do not wish to terminate their pregnancy but have to take into consideration the risks and decide what the best choice is for them and their family. Another reason abortion may be deemed medically necessary is when a woman is raped. Rape can be defined as “Forcible sexual relations with a person against that persons will” (7). When a woman is raped it significantly affects their mental and emotional state so in order to preserve their mental state an abortion may be found medically necessary.
