Comparing or Contrasting Passive Versus Active Discrimination in Today 's Culture
Healthy living society has no space for discrimination. The discrimination means the unjust or prejudicial behavior of various groups of people in a society, especially on the basis of race, age, or sex. Discrimination becomes a major cause for reinforcing the emblematic boundaries that isolate the social groups from each other. We are living, today, in a society, which has now turned into a global village. Man is a social animal and cannot live alone. For healthy living, he has to interact with other members of the society. The society cannot flourish if the discrimination is made between different members of the society while dealing with them. Discrimination is actually associated to the behavior, dealing or making a distinction in favor of or against a person or thing on the basis of the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than merit. Overall, almost 50% society comprises of females. If we opt for gender discrimination, and do not utilize the services of female part of the society, we are depriving the society of its 50% manpower. It is a fact that female cannot perform duties at par with male, but it does not mean that we should isolate them.
