The treatment of heart block can vary depending on the severity and cause of the condition. If heart block in the patient is found to be caused by some type of medication it may go away if the medication is stopped or the dose is lowered. If the patient does have an implantation of a pacemaker they will need to have it checked every six months, this can be done in the doctor’s office or over the phone. When a patient has heart block they are at high risk for developing a condition called atrial fibrillation, or AF.
