Until the early of 21st century, Hollywood movie that involve African American actors or actress only gives them role as the secondary. Although in the recent years, Black hero starts to come up in the Hollywood movie, but if we look at the production team, it was created by the African American. It means that African American hero can only exist in the African American production movie. However, the role of African American who played as the character of God in Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty give several ideas about the representation of Black people in the Hollywood movie. But before that, we need to know how the African American depicted in those films. Is this Black God describing as an anger God or a benevolent one? Then, what are the functions of African American who played as a God in these films. Is this only a character to help the others or only focuses to help the White? I will use Post-colonialism theory to analyze the depiction and function of Magical Negro in these two
