They do this by funding research and providing education to those that have and those with risk factors to not develop this disease. Advocating for the individual, the ADA uses its clout and recognition to promote policies and/or laws to help or prevent the progression of the disease.

Joining their online community, which includes a two-year subscription to their magazine, Diabetes Forecast, costs new members twenty-eight dollars. Seventy five percent of this fee goes to the cost of this subscription.

In todays tech world the information provided through their website is abundant and right at your fingertips. Recipes, exercises, magazines, food tips and weight loss are a few of the many directions one can search. The national website includes a portal where one can assess websites in their community that offer numerous volunteering avenues along with programs and campaigns in various areas.
How or by whom services are provided Services and knowledge of this disease are provided electronically and in print to those at risk or having diabetes. Included on the website are diabetic topics such as type 1, type 2, recipes, testing, insulin, blood glucose, meal plans, exercises, research, advocacy, volunteers, donations, magazines, books, and prevention of this disease. Diabetes Forecast is provided to the consumer with the cost of membership in the ADA. This is a monthly magazine filled with topics pertaining to the those just diagnosed, medications, meals, recipes and ones aimed at the mind, body and soul of those living with the disease.
