When the British were importing good and they were taxing the Americans for the imports. Common sources that were being imported to America was sugar, molasses, and teas. This is one of the most common things the British taxed the Americans; the British also had all these expensive taxes and acts that the Americans had to pay for. In the 1780s there was a big economic crisis that affected American commerce. The British navy which was really the dominate navy of the time would have conflicts with the trade ships. This was the triangular trade; common items that were traded were sugar and tobacco. A very common economic event that took place was Shays’ Rebellion. In 1786, a former captain in the continental army led a rebellion against the court systems. The reason why he led this rebellion, because farmers had to pay very high debts when they tried to start a new farm. This is a common example of an economic crisis.
The American Revolution was very revolutionary. This revolution was not only able to form a strong, able, united country. It was also able to inspire fellow Americans at the time to rebuild the country as a whole. The revolution took effect on Americans socially, politically, and economically.
