An Analysis Of Paravana's Sacrifice

Decent Essays
Throughout the book, family and friends did many sacrifices and jeopardized their lives for each other. An example is when Paravana ran away from the taliban. She showed courage because if the taliban caught up to her she could have faced twice the consequences or worse. Another example is when Mrs.Weera decided to walk home with Parvana because if the taliban would have noticed them both of them would have gotten punished because Parvana wasn't covered completely. Also when Parvana found Homa in an apartment building and told her her secret (that she was a girl pretending to be a boy). That showed courage because she didn’t know exactly who she was talking to which meant if it was one of the taliban she could have faced terrifying consequences.

Introduction The three most important concepts I picked from chapters 3-4 are Courage, Wisdom, and Integrity. Three Concepts My first concept of courage, our book has many definitions of courage as well as categories but what I like how are book defines courage as being related to your heart, your mind and your thought. When you couple courage with a resilient leader, this displays someone who shows nothing but quality because a good leader will display courage and people who see leaders with good courage often will follow them and want to learn from encouraging people.…

The act of sacrificing for a greater cause takes courage, bravery and determination because it puts the wellbeing of somebody else above yourself. The excerpt Julia, written by Lillian Hellman, exemplifies a sacrifice filled with love and fear. In my own experience, when someone makes a sacrifice for you, they put aside their happiness and might do things that are outside of their comfort zones to benefitting an individual. Giving something up for the greater good of someone else takes away the happiness and freedom of an individual and replaces it with the determination to continue the overwhelming sacrifice they have decided to take on. In the short story, Julia, written by Lillian Hellman, there are two lifelong friends: Lilly and Julia.…
