Through out the readings and discussions one specific idea that I found to be the most intriguing was dissatisfaction. Elements of dissatisfaction showed itself in many of the short story in this section. I thought it was interesting to read how the characters in their respective stories reacted to dissatisfaction and how they came up with there own unique conclusions of how they should deal with it. In the short story “The Lady with the Dog” by Anton Chekhov, dissatisfaction is seen in Dmitri Dmitritch Gurov’s stance on life. He was unhappy with is home life, unfaithful to his wife, and “spoke ill of women” which reflected his dissatisfaction with not only his life but also other aspects of the world. Though he was dissatisfied with women he was also dissatisfied without them as well, which shows that other cannot provide personal satisfaction. This dissatisfaction resonates into his relationship with almost every individual that he encounters including his wife and multiple mistresses before Anna Sergeyevna. This same dissatisfaction is also seen in Anna Sergeyevna,
