This is the scene from the pages 26 which is narrated by Vlade, and it take place in concentration camp. One Jewish from camp is trying to exchange his shoes because it doesn’t fit fim well. This is kind of ridiculous scene, because they are in concentration camp as the prisoners. It is obvious that he cannot exchange his shoes, but ridiculously this man asked SS officers to exchange his shoes. The not-fitting shoes shouldn’t be their focus, because they are dealing with their life everyday. They could be killed by SS officer by any reasons, because they were Jewish. Furthermore, this humor scene is the one of the example which didn’t obey the unspoken rule of portraying the genocide. This scene is humorous rather than being serious.
