For this analysis, I chose the quote “Where you invest your love, you invest your life.” This quote is from the song “Awake My Soul” by Mumford and Sons. This song is about wanting to love someone, but you can't love them as much as they deserve. This line of the song is very significant because it has a lot of meaning. Love has several different meanings and it can mean different things to different people. People love their family, jobs, pet, religion and some even love their phones. No matter what we love, we always get a feeling of joy and excitement when we are with that person or thing. We spend a lot of time with our friends and family because they make an impact on our life. You can say where you invest your love, you invest your time. The people we love become our life because we trust them and devote our lives to them. When you are living your life with people you love or …show more content…
From a young age, I have loved music and have a passion for it. I have been singing from the time I started talking and I started playing the piano at the age of three. I have fostered my love for music throughout my life. I have invested a lot of time in my music. I have spent countless hours singing and playing the piano and learning and rehearsing music. I enjoy and perform classical, pop, jazz and rock music. I have shared my love and gifts for music at numerous performances and functions. Clearly because I invested so much of my time for my love of music, I have essentially invested my life in it too. Another way I can relate to the quote is regarding my love for my family. My family has always been there for me through good days and challenging ones. I know I can trust them and they truly have such a positive impact on my life. I can always count on my family, and turn to them when I need their love and support. I love them and I invest my life in them. “Where you invest your love you invest your

The song starts with him talking about how people are always saying that he should get a new truck, now that he has the money, but he doesn’t want a new truck because of its sentimental value. The theme of “I Hold On” is that you should hold onto the things that you can count on and believe in. In the lyrics, Dierks says “What they don't know is my dad and me, we drove her out to Tennessee, and she's still here and now he's gone” (Dierks Bentley 8-10). Now that his dad has passed, those memories with his dad in that truck mean more to him than having a brand new truck, which is why he holds onto that.…

If I had to describe Ab-Soul with one word, it would be “enigma”. The Carson, California emcee is so unpredictable, that seeing him on a feature can lead to anxiety due to uncertainty of quality. One moment, Ab-Soul will display genius level rapping that can rival the likes of his labelmate, Kendrick Lamar. The next moment, he will present punchlines that can compete with 2012 Lil Wayne. Despite these two drastic sides of Ab-Soul, they’re so seamless and interchangeable, that both traits can be seen on the same song; which leads to a lot of frustration from fans.…

The video I chose to watch this week was “Quincy Jones- Soul Bossa Nova.” Right away, I noticed that the beat of the music was more upbeat and fast-paced compared to most of the other music we have listened to so far in this class. I was also intrigued by the list of awards Quincy Jones has accumulated. Reading the viewer comments on YouTube made me realize that the reason this song sounds familiar is because it is the theme song of the movie, “Austin Powers.”…

I would like you to take a minute to think about one of the most important things in your life, personally it would be my family and friends, but some people might agree with me when I say that music plays a huge part in our lives. For as long as humans have been around there has been some form of music made by these people, it’s safe to assume that even the first human beings had some form of music that they created and performed. Music can easily be compared to stories that have been passed down through time by storytellers who repeatedly told their stories to people for pleasure and entertainment. Music plays a huge part in everyone’s life, whether you perform it for a living or if you simply enjoy listening to it on a daily basis. We can…
