Myers writes about how colleges are trying to rid their campuses of materials that students might find “triggering”, the effects of this ban on controversies and common thoughts on the topic. He purposed that one of the large affects this has on students is mental illness, “54 percent of college students surveyed said that they had ‘felt overwhelming anxiety’ in the past 12 months up from 49 percent in the same survey just five years earlier” he says.
