The life of Tsar Nicholas II was very different to those in the working class, he lived a life of wealth in the Grand Kremlin Palace surrounded by maids and butlers, only getting the best education by the top tutors and having exclusive foods. He has taken up drinking, spending more time inside the house and at the pub instead of working on the farm and feeding the animals. Even when working, he drinks alcohol and forgets to complete simple routines demonstrating his incompetence. As a result of this, the animals hold a meeting with Old Major leading, voicing their frustrations about the working conditions, the animals decide to leave with the intention of rebelling someday. “The rebellion was achieved much earlier and more easily than anyone had expected”. After not being fed for two days straight, the animals helped themselves to the food in the store-shed. Unknowingly, the animals had awoken Jones from his sleep and within moments he along with his four men came inside and started whipping all of them. Without hesitation and out of instinct, all the animals started attacking their master and drove them off the farm. The story of Tsar Nicholas II follows a similar plotline. He was not doing well in terms of leading his country and the people didn’t like him either. He left his Russian reign temporarily to control the military leaving Russia in incapable hands which is a major reason to why the people disliked him. During his reign, he made countless mistakes which led to the downfall of Russia and the end of the Romanov Rule Dynasty. The first bad image he made for himself was at the time of his coronation where an “estimate of 1389” people died because they got trampled over by others rushing towards the food and drinks. Instead of mourning with the majority of the people, he went to the ball to strengthen relations with France, which did not sit well with the Russian people. In 1904, Russia’s fleet in Port Arthur was attacked unannounced by the Japanese, this was responded to by Tsar Nicholas II sending Russia’s Baltic Fleet which was half the world away to Port Arthur taking a 9-month voyage. It was nearly annihilated in the “battle of the Tsushima Straight” but he stayed firm believing this to be an easy victory, he sent their ground forces to Port Arthur and that didn’t get them any closer to victory either. It was after one year of defeats in 1905, that Tsar Nicholas II called for a treaty with the Japanese. Later at the brink of war with Germany, Tsar Nicholas decided to take full control of the military leaving his wife ruling over Russia temporarily. This was the final mistake he had made, it resulted in the military and the government turning their back on him in the end.
